Life has definitely changed a lot since March 27...what with nappy changes, baby burps, hungry screams n 3 breaks in my hitherto uninterrupted beauty (!!!!) sleep :D
And...I am back!!!!!
after a month and half without internet...feels like returning to civilization :)
To me, all this while, the petitions, the protests, the signature campaigns to save the Nanda road, had attained a surreal aura...
maybe I was too snug in the belief that no one in their right minds would think of destroying the trees that gave it the authentic South Bangalore feel...trees that have just become a part of our lives...
or maybe I was too shocked...
but now, when I see the first signs of the Bengaluru Metro barricades dotting the Nanda Road and the road being dug up to lay the foundation for its pillars, its like being rudely awaken to harsh reality :(

I don't wan't this :(

Ring Ring Ringa...

Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, sang together for the first time since Choli Ke Peeche, and guess what they come up with...a masterpiece like "Ring Ring Ringa".... :)
Alka Yagnik sounds amazingly ageless and Ila Arun...the song is tailor-made for her ;)
And then I bought a packet of Tata salt today, that had 03/09 as the Mfd date :)

Middle-agedness

Tell-tale signs of middle-agedness
1. Ill-fitting jeans with bright orange or aquamarine (thick white stripes preferred) collared t-shirts are your "cool" casuals
2. Multi-containered tupperware (blue outer jacket preferred) is an integral part of your office wear
3. You have an incredibly obvious paunch, which you are scared you might lose

Hidden charges!!!!

Well....why am I thinking about it now, when all our working life (starting from the first credit card that we unwittingly owned to a bike bought 6 months back) we have been paying those hidden charges, that have inevitably been in the fine print of every damned loan/legal document that we have signed?
Just that I am totally pissed off...some classic hidden charges for you all:

1. If you ever cribbed about how booking railway tickets online made you poorer by 15 rupees (the service charge IRCTC charges for each booking), then try booking them using an ICICI Debit Card. Voila, wake up the next day and you are poorer by another 11 rupees, which shows up on your ICICI statement as "IRCTC charges" and is really "the charge for using the ICICI payment gateway" (you just need to google this)
To add insult to injury, consider cancelling the ticket...
INJURY: you lose 40 rupees as cancellation charges and the 15 rupees service charges
INSULT: another 11 rupees for using the "ICICI payment gateway" to refund your money to your ICICI bank account :)

2...To be continued
And finally...a bright beautiful Monday morning :)

Read: No office...no Monday morning blues :)
And what is it that gives me a high these days?
Cooking of course :)
My speciality...salads, with a touch of novelty...

The ones already tried n tested:
papad salad (yeah!!!)
kachumber (roasted peanut salad)
Cabbage-beetroot salad (yet to christen it)

and of course, the crowning glory, the minestrone soup (14-Jan-09)...a desi version of it... :)

With photos for proof the next time around, I ll be back ;)
Appreciated dad's old-fashioned of caution, that of filling petrol into all the bikes at home at the hint of a strike, only when I saw an email "*****Need petrol urgently*****" yesterday in office, following the 3-day strike by the PSU Oil companies executives :)
