SRK

Watched Don....with some of my favourite ppl...:)
Well, this post is not about the movie or a review....its for Shahrukh Khan...:)
I have probably (unwittingly of course) watched almost all movies of his...and one thing I always admired about him was his style....he can entertain the youngest, the oldest, the wisest and the dumbest...Is it the energy he effuses onto the screen or is it just that we are so used to him (love him, hate him, but u cant ignore him types)...
I am sure its not easy to step into Amitabh Bachchans shoes, but then thats precisely what hes done...He's carried off the role of Don in typical SRK style with elan...be it the Khaike pan banaraswala song (n dance) or the unbelievable (almost Badshah) style stunts...hes a natural...
I am hoping Ashwini is going to write more on him...firstly coz she is an old time SRK fan and secondly coz she was the second (and only other besides urs truly) to like the movie...

Ciao

A nice read...

A delightful read...recommended by Ramesh Damani (an Investment Guru) and our very own tuntun (a banking professional!)....

A curious incident....

I was on my way back home from a long day at office....
In the middle of a busy road...an auto driver tried to rush into a one-way from the wrong side....and in typical movie style, a guy on a bike blocked the auto's way....
Couldnt hold back a smile, when the guy on the bike refused to budge...the urix auto driver tried to fight it out for some time, but had to give in n turn back....
:))

Does this augur changing times for us?? I sure hope so....

Back home

My managers response to my return "I hope u enjoyed ur vacation in SF, now its time to get back to work..."
after a roller-coaster ride which lasted throughout the last 2 months...am finally being chucked onto an Air India flight which, incidentally is headed home...will be home on Aug-1....can't wait for 'Maa ke haath ka khana"...the pani /masala puri's...the Forum's...the traffic...the rains...the little ones...
:))))
One of the daily horoscope says:
" You will inherit a large sum of money"
Am waiting...:))))
The weather for the day...generally cloudy day where the temp never went beyond 95 ...and to top it all off a dust storm for about 45 minutes...gr8 to look at from the office windows..:D
got dark by 7:oo pm....a record of sorts!!!!
The only thing missing...a pinch of rain....but well, thats expecting a little too much...:-P

A Memorial weekend

A busy weekend....
started with Fanaa on Friday evening....high expectations coupled with the fact that the theater screamed "Tickets Sold out!!!" made us land at the theatres about 1 hour before the start, so that we get the best seats....:D
The movie had a promising beginning, what with Kajol looking extremely exotic (for the lack of a better term...), Aamir at his usual best, awesome shayari's and wonderful acting too...it has all the makings of a sweet romantic movie (the Yash Chopra spl) and exotically shot too...and then comes the twists n turns part...its alarming as such, and promises a much better second half...
Now saying that the second half is a let down, would be coming down too sharply on Fanaa, it is good, but its way too long...:(, you tend to lose interest...(I would not reveal the twists, for the benefit of all those who nurture a wish to watch the movie...)...its a 3.5 hrs movie, beware!!!!!

Saturday was spent in preparing for the carpet cleaners who came in at 9 in the morning....:(((
followed by an Indian lunch at Pasand...and 2.5 hrs of absolute tennis...:)))

Sunday was all about playing carrom and watching Robin hood....and of course "Crash"...would rate it as one of the best movie I have seen of late....
its all about abt racism (a topic close to the heart of a couple of very close friends...:D)...but a feel good movie...cant remember the last time we were so engrossed in a movie, that we personally hate the bad guys...or fervently pray that the black lady is pulled out of an about to explode car (well, in traditional movies, you would take it for granted that shes gonna get out a second before the car explodes, and you wouldnt bother to heave a sigh of relief when she comes out unscathed...)...or almost shed a tear when the innocent little girl is shot at...(by whom, I would love to say, but a couple of ppl who want to watch the movie might just take a shot at me!!!)...I could go on and on, but I would say "Go and watch it!!!"....
Monday...sleeping late and playing tennis took up most of the time...but found a little time to rag Jaggi, thanks to akku and manu...:)
and now, Monday is almost over, gotta prepare for another week in office...
tata for now....
Choti Si Baat - starring Amol Palekar and Vidya Sinha...

A simple, sweet, feel good movie with subtle comedy...
just love it...:)

Da vinci code!

Advice:
If you have read the book, dont watch the movie....
If you havent read the book, still dont watch the movie, you would do better to just read the book!!!!
